          Speed is the amount of distance covered in a given amount of time.

 

2. Easy way to find speed?

            If you know the speed and the time taken by an object you can you can find the distance covered.

 

3. Scalar Quantity.

         It has only magnitude and will not specify Direction

Velocity

           Imagine that I am traveling from the south at a speed of 50 meter per second. Absolutely correct i would have been covered 3000 meters.

Velocity is speed with direction of force. Velocity=Direction

 

What is the Unit of measurement of velocity?

           Unit of measurement of velocity is the same as the speed meter per second (SI UNIT)

This si unit is common for worldwide.

What is Average velocity?

             To make it easy let me come up with an interesting example. Imagine that you are traveling you have to go 10 km. Due to some problem in your way, you have to go around 30 km and 1hour time to reach your distance let me tell you in an Tabular form

Average speed	Average velocity
Total distance covered/ Total time taken.	Displacement/Time
40 / 1 = 40KMPH	10/1 = 10KMPH
